19 new COVID-19 cases, 11 new recoveries in listening area

DES MOINES — North-central Iowa saw 19 more cases of COVID-19 while 11 more people have recovered from the coronavirus.

In the 24-hour period leading up to 11 o’clock this morning, six more cases had been reported in Franklin County; five each in Cerro Gordo and Floyd; two in Butler; and one in Hancock.

That brings the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 1887 — 584 in Cerro Gordo; 441 in Wright; 218 in Franklin; 126 in Floyd; 116 in Hancock; 113 in Butler; 77 in Kossuth; 76 in Mitchell; 75 in Winnebago; and 61 in Worth. Of those 1887 total cases, 1076 have been reported since July 1st, or 57%.

Five more people have recovered in Cerro Gordo County, four in Wright, and two in Franklin. The total number of recovered in the area is now at 1178, or 62.4%.

Looking at the statewide numbers in the same 24-hour period leading up to 11 o’clock this morning: four more deaths were reported for a total now of 878; 320 cases were identified to bring the total to 45,801; 176 more people have recovered for a total of 33,102, or 72.3%.
