An 11-year-old girl was lucky to have Thanksgiving with her family after escaping from a kidnapping attempt. They forced her into a pickup truck, then she jumped out and ran home.
Oregon man attempts to kidnap an 11-year-old girl with pickup truck
An Oregon teenager evaded a kidnapping attempt by fleeing the pickup truck she was pushed into just days before Thanksgiving.
At 2 a.m., a truck pushed the 11-year-old girl as she was strolling around an apartment complex in the 4600 block of Southeast Roethe Road.
She was strolling around when a man grabbed her. The man physically scooped her up and drove her in a 1998 Ford F-150.
According to The Mirror, she told police that the man drove a short distance before stopping at nearby homes. That’s when she dashed out and ran home.
Then her mother called 911. Officers were able to track down the red pickup truck and the man who fit the girl’s description.
Following interviews and an investigation, Felipe Hernandez Martinez, 47, was detained for second-degree kidnapping and harassment.
The Clackamas County Jail is holding him on $250,000 bail. The inquiry into the incident is still ongoing.
According to current information, the girl did not sustain any injuries. It is unclear how she was able to escape the pickup truck or how long she had to run to return home.
